La Cocina San Francisco

La Cocina is a non-profit organization located in San Francisco. We are a kitchen incubator, we work with women from communities of color and immigrant communities and support them in the process of formalizing food businesses. We do this by providing the entrepreneurs in our program with access to an affordable commercial kitchen space, access to market opportunities, and technical assistance.

Recipe Cost Calculator has become an extremely valuable tool for us at La Cocina. Every entrepreneur that comes into our program goes through a series of classes a number of which are product specific and in the most important of those classes we concentrate on teaching folks the principals of arriving at cost of goods sold which later on leads to being able to set the right price for their good. Having this tool at our disposal has made teaching the principles of recipe costing very easy.

In addition to the very user-friendly interface of the tool, we as an organization and the entrepreneurs as individual business owners have been blown away by the timeliness of responses to questions and by the constant improvements made to the tool. I simply can't say enough good things about Recipe Cost Calculator. It is a tool for cooks by cooks, it shows that this tool has been designed by someone who understands the cooking process.
