Snap, Upload, Done
Here’s how it works. Open any ingredient in your account — say, all-purpose flour — and click Nutrition Details at the top of the screen. You’ll see an upload area where you can drag and drop a photo of the product’s nutrition label. Hit Extract Nutrition Data, and within seconds, our AI reads the entire label and fills in every single field for you.
Calories, total fat, sodium, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals — all of it, pulled straight from the photo and placed into the form. You don’t type a thing.
Fine-Tune If You Want
The system also gives you a confidence score so you can see exactly how sure it is about each value. If the serving size on the label is volume-based, just pop in the gram equivalent (the label usually has it) and hit Update Nutrition Data. That’s it — full nutrition facts, attached to your ingredient, ready to roll into every recipe that uses it.
And if you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way? The full form is right there. You can manually enter or edit any value at any time. The AI extraction is a shortcut, not a requirement — you’re always in control of your data.
Works with Anything in Your Pantry
This isn’t limited to a preset database. Got a specialty ingredient from a local supplier? A house-made compound butter? A private-label product? If it has a nutrition label, just photograph it. If it doesn’t, type the values in yourself. Either way, your recipes will have accurate nutrition data flowing through every cost calculation.
